Cal falls 6-1

After the calls not going Cals way yesterday they went the same today. At last count cal had 22 Davenport had 6.
Final score 6-1 Graw getting the lone Cal U goal. Cal was outshot 36-24.

Cal still trails after the two by the score 2-0. Cal is now getting out shot 26-19 thanks in part to several power plays given to Davenport.

Different day same story

Cal gave up 2 goals on the first 2 shots of the game. Davenport converted on 2 of it 4 power plays. Cal went 0 for 1 on its lone power play. Cal trails 2-0 but holds the advantage in shots 13-6

Cal wins

Cal scores a quick goal in the 3rd to go up 2 but then moments later Hope answers. Cal was out shot 34-24 but cal wins 4-3

Cal takes lead

Cal started the period off while killing a penalty and was able to get a 2 on 1 going the other way and Ierardi got the Vulcans started scoring. Then with over 10 to play Eddy scored the games 1st even strength goal to tie it at 2. Then with under 5 Cal gets a power play in which Posa converts to give the vulcans the lead. That is where we stand after 2 Cal leading 3-2

Side note a win or tie and Cal advances to play Davenport.

After some questionable calls Hope converted on 2 of its 6 power plays including two 5on3. The vulcans were outshot 16 to 6.

Cal wins to go 2-0 in poll play

While killing off a penalty the Vulcans let one slip past them as Cal-state cut into the lead. Cal responded with a goal from Milnarcik. Then Cal State got a power play goal to make it 6-4. Graw would add one with 4 to go. Bohn got his hat rick goal with just under 1 min. Then cal state added a late one and one more with 1.9 to go
Final 8-6 Vulcans.
Hope beats Bama 9-1

Cal takes on Hope tomorrow at 4 winner advances.

Cal takes control.

Werner opened the scoring as he scored on the power play. Mins later Bohn scored to put the vulcans up 2. With just over 5 to play Locante score to give them the biggest lead of the day. The Vulcans still trail 23-17 in shots but that does not matter with a 3 goal lead.

Tied at 2

Despite being outshot 11-8 Cal is tied at 2 with goals from Bohn and York. Cal-State started the scoring off and that lead held until Nate scored while playing 4 on 4. Then moments later CUP extended the lead. It looked like theVulcans would take a 2-1 lead to the locker room until a failed clearing attempt found its way past Shane.

In pool play Hope 5 Bama 0. Hope has outshot them 23-4 with 15 to go in 2nd.

Preview of Game 2

Late last night the 1 seed in Cal's pool skated to a 5-5 tie with the 4 seed. After the first day of play Cal leads the poll with 2 points then Hope and Cal-State are tied with 1 point each and Bama is sitting in 4th with 0 points.
Today's action is Bama vs Hope at 4:00 and then CUP vs Cal-State at 4:15. I will keep you up to date on both games in pool play.

Cal wins game 1

With just over 10 mins Alabama scored another to pull within 3. Then moments later while killing a penalty Bama scored another. Nate Bohn would stop the Bama threat as he scored on the power play. Claybaugh would add another as time ticked down.

Cal continues to lead after 2

Nate Bohn got the scoring started off for the Vulcans in the 2nd. To take a 2 goal lead the. With under 8 to play Claybaugh extended the lead 4-1. Graw would later add to the lead. That is where we stand after 2 Cal up 5-1 and lead 30-13 in shots.

Cal leads after 1st

Cal started the scoring off as Justin scored on the power play. Then Nick Posa extended the lead as he for the second of the game. Then Alabama rallied back to cut into the lead. Cal was able to kill off over 2 mins of 5-3 as Faust, Eddy, and Bohn were serving time in the box. After 1 the Vulcans lead 2-1 and also lead in shots 17-8.

Even tho Cal killed off 5 penalties they trail 1-0. The Vulcans will be shorthanded for the first min of the second period.

Cal drops game 2

After a scoreless 2nd SRU scored while shorthanded to go ahead 2-0 and from there they controlled the Cal and went to victory.

Cal still trails after 2

There was no goals in the second period but Cal had plenty of chances. The Vulcans outshot SRU 9-0 but could not sneak one past the Rocks goalie.

Cal vs SRU take 4

Even tho the vulcans outshot SRU 9-5 they trail 1-0. The lone goal came with just over 5 to play. Both teams were able to kill off their loan penalty.

Cal drops game 1

Cal drops game 1 5-0. Cal was outshot in the finally 20 mins 5-1. The ladies will take on SRU later tonight.

Cal still trails

After back to back power plays Wisconsin was able to get one past Nicole. That was the only goal of the period. Cal has out shot the BlueDevils 15-14 in the second.

Cal trails 3-0 after 1

Cal had some pressure early but then with 7 to play Wisconsin-Stout scored off the rebound. Then while Cal was short handed Wisconsin struck again and moments later they scored again. That is where we stand after 1.

Nationals Day 1

Well after the women loaded up the bus and then picked up their coach they got underway. Many of the players had different ways to kill time. Some listened to music while others slept, some played games while one person took to her cross stitching. After a long ride the team finally got to the hotel and is ready to begin their quest for a National Championship.

6-peat

It took almost 13 mins for either team to score in the 3rd but RMU pulled within 1 with 7 to play. Mitch Faust would answer mins later to regain the 2 goal lead. Cal would tack on another with 2 to play.

Cal wins its 6th CHE championship. See you at nationals.

Second period of finals

As Cal was killing off a penalty Ierardi was able to notch a short handed goal to make it 3-0. Then just over 8 left to play RMU got its first goal of the game to cut into Cal's lead. That is where we stand after 2 Cal 3 RMU 1. Again Cal outshot them 13-7.

CHE championship game 3

After dropping game 1 the Vulcans battled back to win game 2 in the best of 3 series. The winner of today's action will wIn the CHE Championship.
Cal started the scoring in this game as York scored a power play goal just 5 mins in. Then with just 8.4 left Cal added another power play goal as Posa scored. Cal has been testing the RMU goalie as they outshot them 23-9

Cal forces game 3

Unlike the first two period Cal did not get first goal of the period. Graw would later answer that as he completed his hat trick. Then with just over 10 to play RMU pulled within 3. Faust would cap the scoring off as he scored on the power play.

Cal got the first goal of the period to take a 5 goal lead. Then RMU finally got on the board late in the period. End of 2 Cal 5 RMU 1

Game 2 starts

The period started off fast and hard hitting then 4 mins in Graw opens the scoring. Then at the 10 min mark Tom Graw got his second of the game. Then Posa added another 2 mins later. Mitch Faust ended the scoring for the first as the score is it ends 4-0

Just moments into the 3rd RMU extended its lead. Then as Cal was on the power play they thought they had pulled within 1 but ref ruled the goal was off. Then just moments later the Vulcans got another power play chance and scored on this one. With just over 7 mins to go Cal would once again get a chance on the power play. Tim Gleason would make them pay as he would tie it up. Nate Bohn would add another power play goal moments later. With just over 5 to play Cal would be put to the task of killing off a 5 min major. RMU did not waste time on making them pay as they scored 2 within a min of the power play. Cal drops game 1 5-4

Second Period

Cal and RMU picked up the hitting and then half way throu the period Cal got on the board. Then with 5 to go RMU answered back to regain its 1 goal lead. Even tho Cal out shot RMU they remain down by 1 after 2.

CHE Championship underway

The scored remained at 0 until just over 2 mins when RMU got the first score on the power play. That is where we stand 1-0 at end of 1. Cal will be shorthanded to start the 2nd.

Cal wins CHA

Cal continued rolling as the 3rd started scoring 5 mins into the period. CMU tried to mount a comeback as they scored a power play goal. But Cal put a stop to that answering with a goal of their own with about 5 to play. CMU added one late on the power play but that would be all th scoring Cal wins 8-5.

Cal carries lead

Cal started off the scoring quick in the second as Taucher scored just 2 mins into the period. Moments later CMU got on the score board as it is now 3-1 and then added another with 13:52 left to pull within 1. Cal would soon answer with a with a power play goal to go ahead by 2 again. Pete Ellis would then add yet another power play goal and complete his quest for a hat trick. Then the Vulcans got another at the nine min mark. With Cal shorthanded CMU scored a power play goal to pull with in 3 with 5 mins to go. At the end the score is 6-3 Cal leads.

CHA Championship

Cal started off the scoring with Breen scoring a power play goal. Then with 14.1 Cal would add another power play goa to go up 2-0 at end of 1

Cal wins 9-0

Cal lights the lamp several more times behind a hat trick from Gleason. The power Play unit was clicking today recording several with a man advantage. Cal U will take on RMU next Friday in a best of 3 series. Stay tuned for CHA championship.

Second period

Halfway through the period Cal got the scoring started in the second as Gleason scored a power play goal. Then moments later Bohn tallied another one again taking advantaged of a power play. While St. Vincent was killing off a 5 minute Justin Locante got his first playoff goal. And we stand at Cal 4 St. Vincent 0

CHE starts their playoff run

After recieving the award for best team in the CHE they took the ice to start their playoff run. Nate Bohn started their scoring off after recieving a long pass from Posa. Late in the period Cal killed of a 5 on 3 and we stand at Cal 1 St. Vincent 0

Cal wins

Cal wins less then a minute into the OT

The winner is...

Cal starts the scoring in the 3rd as they score just minutes into the period. Then with 8:44 D'Youville regains the 2 goal lead. With time not on Cal's side they score a goal and get a power play goal shortly after to tie it at 6. Unfortunately they could not withstand a late pressure and give up a late goal. Then with 2.6 seconds Cal gets a penalty shot and score.

2nd period

D'Youville picked up where they left off by scoring first. The Vulcans answered with a score of their own just moments later. The with 11:41 to go Crowley tied it up for the Vulcans. Then after Cal has a goal waved off (whistle), D'Youville scored the next two as they regain the lead. And that is where we stand 5-3 going to the third.

CHA Playoffs underway

The CHA playoffs are underway at Bladerunners in Bethal Park. In the Cal U vs D'Youville the Vulcans got on the board first scoring just over half way in the first. It would be D'Youville that would get the last 2 goals in the period as they scored two in the final 3:00 mins. Cal trails by 1 with 40 mins to play.
